The VAT Change
You'll recall, the UK government very cleverly saved us from total financial meltdown by changing the VAT level.
Although this caused complete chaos throughout the entire retail sector, the savings over the last year (.00003p of a bar of Galaxy for example),
have obviously prevented the entire UK economy from being sucked into a black hole.
So now we can cry hurrah! again as our leaders switch back to 17.5% on probably the most awkward day they could come up with- New Year's Day.
Oh well, at least we have tried to ease the burden with CaterBook. On the 1st of January, open CaterBook and press F2 on the keyboard.
Then enter 'VATRATE' (without the quotes) and follow the on-screen prompts.
This can be done afterwards and CaterBook will backdate the change, but please do this as soon as possible ON OR AFTER 01/01/10.
Are your online prices up to date?
One question that pops up regularly on the helpline is 'Why is our online booking system not working?' and it is very often because there are no prices set.
With the new year coming up, now is a good time to log onto your online booking manager and just review the prices and make sure they extend far enough into the future.
Just as a quick reminder, you can log on using SYSTEM - INTERNET - GO TO WWW.
Are your in-house prices ready for next year?
Now might also be a good time to check your in-house prices are set ready for next year. You can check this by pressing F10 on the main screen and clicking the arrow to the right of 2009 (as shown). If there are no dates set, CaterBook will offer to create them for you. enter YES and the system is all set.
Christmas mailing...
Now is the time of year that it may be useful to send a Christmas mailing to your past guests... If you`re not sure how to do this, have a look at the video which you can access by right-clicking on SEARCH. If you get a script error, take a look at the instructions on our forum.
Mad Hotel...
Well, here is a first. We have read plenty of marketing advice about hotel specializing.
Like ensuring you are clearly a boutique hotel or perhaps a budget operation... But this example in France takes the biscuit, or should that be sunflower seed?
Very odd hotel
Would you recommend CaterBook?
If not, please let us know why not, but if you think it is, how about recommending us to another hotelier? A great deal of our new clients come to us through recommendation and of course we like to have new clients.
So if you know of someone who could benefit from CaterBook, how about letting them know...
To ensure all the facilities are available to you, please make sure you have updated to the latest version with SYSTEM - INTERNET - UPDATE CATERBOOK
Thank you for using CaterBook.
